Safety advice

Your safety and well-being has, and always will be our highest priority and we take our responsibility very serious when it comes to our member's adventure in finding the one. Finding your soulmate and falling in love is one of the greatest gifts, which is why we do our best to make the experience as smooth as possible. For this reason we kindly ask you to consider the various safety steps you should follow - online as well as offline.

Please remember to trust your own judgement when getting to know new people. By using your common sense you'll most likely avoid falling for people who doesn't put honesty first.

Never feel pressured to do anything you're not 100% sure about, no matter how convincing or charming someone may seem.

We want to make your experience on Lovla, one of the best you've had so let's look at the other safety advice to go by.

Online Behaviour

Protect Your Financial Information:

Never respond to people asking for money or requesting a wire transfer, especially overseas - even if the person claims to be in an emergency situation. Report the incident immediately to us instead.

Transferring money is untraceable and there's no protection for the sender against any loss, or possibilities of getting your money back.

Protect Your Personal Information:

Never give out any private and personal information, such as your social security number or credit card information, and don't tell your address or workplace to people you don't know yet or haven't met before.

Please note that you will never receive an email from Lovla, asking for your password information. So, if you receive any email with that kind of demand, it should be reported to us immediately.

Block and Report Users If Necessary:

You can always block and report suspicious users, anonymously. If you receive unusual messages and strange requests from another member, don't hesitate to stop the communication at any time - both before as well as after you've matched.

Suspicious Behaviour:

Violating our Terms of Use could be:

  • Asking you for money or donations
  • Sending inappropriate or offensive messages
  • Requesting photos or webcam chat
  • Asking for your email or phone number before knowing each other
  • Asking you for prepaid phone cards
  • Demanding your password info as a proof of trust

Offline Behaviour

Get to Know the Other Person:

Start off by keeping your communication limited to Lovla. This will give you the opportunity to get to know each other in a safe space, before eventually meeting in person.

Meet in a Public Place:

Meet for the first time in an open and public place. Never agree on a first date in a remote location or on someone's home address.

Tell Friends of Your Plans:

Inform a friend or family member of your plans and where you're going. Make sure your phone is fully charged and with you all the time, in case you need to use it.

Use Your Own Transportation:

Take care of your own transportation. You don't have to depend on someone else to carry you, especially in case you want the date to end sooner than planned.
